Product Details

Description

This blue plush rug takes traditional Moroccan design and gives it a modern-day update. Part of the Marrakesh Collection, it features simple, classic motifs that add a bit of subtle character without turning into a busy, overwhelming pattern. The blue and neutral colour palette makes it genuinely easy to style into most existing rooms.

It's power-loomed from enhanced polypropylene, giving it a virtually non-shedding finish that's straightforward to maintain day-to-day. The pile has a soft, plush feel underfoot, adding a cosy, relaxed touch to a living room or bedroom without needing a thick wool equivalent.

A decorative fringe runs along each side, adding an extra 8cm of length beyond the main body of the rug, so it's worth factoring that into your measurements before ordering. Right now this design is only available in the 230x160cm size, so it suits a smaller to mid-sized room best.

A couple of things to keep in mind before you order. Colours can look slightly different depending on your screen, and we'd recommend an anti-slip pad underneath, like Supa Rug Grip, to help keep it in place. This item can only be delivered to a street address, not a PO box.

FAQs

Does the fringe need any special care to stop it tangling or fraying?

A gentle shake or light vacuum with the handheld attachment usually keeps the fringe looking tidy. Avoid pulling on individual threads, and if it does get a bit tangled, carefully combing it out with your fingers works well.

Will the plush pile flatten quickly in a high-traffic area?

Some flattening is normal over time in busy spots, same as any plush pile rug. Giving it an occasional fluff with your hand and rotating it every few months will help it keep its cosy, plush feel for longer.

Why is this design only available in one size right now?

Stock levels can vary across our range, and this particular design currently only has the 230x160cm size available. If you're after a different size in a similar Moroccan-inspired style, it's worth checking the wider Marrakesh Collection or getting in touch with our team.

Is polypropylene a good choice for a rug in a high-moisture area, like near an entryway?

Polypropylene handles moisture better than many natural fibres, making it a reasonably practical choice for entryways or areas prone to the odd damp shoe or spill. Just avoid leaving it consistently wet, since prolonged moisture isn't ideal for any rug's backing.

Does the neutral and blue colour palette work with warmer toned furniture, like timber?

Yes, the muted blue and neutral tones in this design are versatile enough to sit comfortably alongside warm timber furniture or cooler-toned pieces like grey or charcoal. It's designed to blend into a room rather than compete with existing colours.

Rug Care
Keeping it Clean

Rugs do more than add style to a room. They deal with daily foot traffic, spills, and dirt, so proper care goes a long way in keeping them looking their best for years to come. Here are a few essential tips to help.

Cleaning Advice

To protect the quality of your rug, we recommend using a professional-grade cleaner such as Prefesol, or getting guidance from a rug care specialist before attempting any cleaning yourself. Please note we can't accept responsibility for any damage or changes to your rug caused by cleaning products or methods chosen by the customer.

Vacuuming

Canister vacuums without a beater bar are the best option for cleaning rugs. Brooms and manual sweepers also work well as a gentle alternative. If you only have an upright vacuum, use the handheld attachment where possible and avoid running it directly over the rug's edges. If your rug is reversible, remember to vacuum both sides.

For hand-woven rugs, take extra care when vacuuming, as the suction can pull at the weave. Taking the rug outside and shaking it out is a safer option for these.

Sunlight Protection

Natural light can bring out the colours in a rug, but too much direct sunlight over time can cause fading and weaken the fibres. Using curtains or blinds during peak sun hours, or placing the rug in an area with more indirect light, helps protect it from UV damage and keeps it looking vibrant for longer.

Rotate

We recommend rotating your rug 180 degrees every three to six months. This helps balance out fading, distributes wear evenly, and reduces the impact of direct sunlight on any one section.

IMPORTANT TIP: We recommend that an anti-slip pad such as Supa Rug Grip be used underneath rugs to prevent slippage between the rug and the surface it is placed on.

Please Note: This item cannot be delivered to a PO Box, only to a street address.

Rug Care

Keeping it Clean
Rugs are not just beautiful additions to your home; they also endure the everyday hustle and bustle of foot traffic, spills, and dirt. Proper care and maintenance are crucial in preserving their beauty and extending their lifespan. Here are some essential rug care tips to keep your rugs looking fresh and vibrant for years to come.

Cleaning Advice
To protect the quality of your rug, we strongly recommend using a professional-grade cleaner such as Prefesol or seeking guidance from a rug-care specialist before attempting any cleaning yourself.

Please note that we cannot accept responsibility for any damage or changes to your rug caused by cleaning products or methods chosen by the customer.

Vacuuming

  • Canister vacuums without beater bars are the optimal type of vacuum to use on rugs.
  • Brooms and manual sweepers are also a gentle and effective way to clean rugs.
  • If you must use an upright vacuum, use the handheld attachment whenever possible.
  • Refrain from running the vacuum over the edges of the rug. Instead, use the handheld attachment or carefully place the vacuum on the rug.
  • If a rug is reversible, remember to vacuum both sides.
  • For hand-woven rugs, use extra caution when vacuuming, as the suction can pull the weave. Alternatively, you can take the rug outside and gently shake it out.

Sunlight Protection
While natural light can enhance the colors of your rug, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause fading and degradation of fibers. Use curtains or blinds to block the sun during peak hours, or consider placing your rug in an area with more indirect light.

By taking these simple steps, you can protect your rugs from UV damage, ensuring they remain vibrant and beautiful for many years.

Rotate
It is highly recommended to rotate your rug 180 degrees every 3–6 months to balance appearance, minimize fading, distribute wear evenly, and protect it from direct sunlight.
