Description
This cream rug takes a simple, elegant approach, letting a lustrous 12mm wool pile do the talking rather than a bold pattern or colour. Hand-loomed from 100% premium wool, the cut pile has a natural sheen that reflects light gently, bringing a bit of warmth and quiet sophistication to neutral, minimal spaces.
Every rug in the Refined Loom range is GoodWeave certified, ensuring the artisans who make it work under fair and ethical conditions. If sustainable, responsible production matters to you, that's built into this piece from the ground up, not just a claim tacked on afterwards.
The creamy, neutral tone is genuinely versatile, working just as well in a modern minimalist space as it does in a warmer, more traditional room. It pairs easily with almost any furniture colour, from dark timber and black accents through to soft pastels or other neutrals.
Available in three standard sizes from 230x160cm up to a large 330x240cm, plus two runner options for hallways or narrower spaces. As with any premium hand-loomed rug, colours can look slightly different depending on your screen, and we'd recommend an anti-slip pad underneath, like Supa Rug Grip, to keep it secure. This item can only be delivered to a street address, not a PO box.

FAQs
Will a cream wool rug show stains or dirt more than a darker colour?
Cream can show certain marks more visibly than a dark rug, but wool is naturally stain-resistant and easier to spot-clean than many synthetic fibres. Regular vacuuming and quick attention to spills keep it looking its best.
What does GoodWeave certification actually mean for this rug?
GoodWeave certification confirms the rug was made under fair, ethical working conditions, with independent checks in place to make sure artisans aren't subject to exploitative practices. It's a way of backing up sustainability claims with an actual standard rather than just a label.
Is the sheen on the wool pile a coating, or part of the fibre itself?
It's part of the natural wool fibre rather than an applied coating. That's why the sheen shifts slightly depending on the light and angle, rather than sitting as a flat, uniform shine across the whole rug.
What's the difference between the runner sizes and the standard rug sizes?
The 300x80cm and 400x80cm runners are designed for narrower spaces like hallways or alongside a bed, while the standard sizes from 230x160cm to 330x240cm suit open floor areas like a living room or study.
Does a premium wool rug like this need any special ongoing care?
Not especially, though it's worth using a professional-grade cleaner or a rug care specialist for anything beyond light vacuuming, given the investment. Regular rotation and keeping it out of harsh direct sunlight will help it hold its colour and shape long term.
Rug Care
Keeping it Clean
Rugs do more than add style to a room. They deal with daily foot traffic, spills, and dirt, so proper care goes a long way in keeping them looking their best for years to come. Here are a few essential tips to help.
Cleaning Advice
To protect the quality of your rug, we recommend using a professional-grade cleaner such as Prefesol, or getting guidance from a rug care specialist before attempting any cleaning yourself. Please note we can't accept responsibility for any damage or changes to your rug caused by cleaning products or methods chosen by the customer.
Vacuuming
Canister vacuums without a beater bar are the best option for cleaning rugs. Brooms and manual sweepers also work well as a gentle alternative. If you only have an upright vacuum, use the handheld attachment where possible and avoid running it directly over the rug's edges. If your rug is reversible, remember to vacuum both sides.
For hand-woven rugs, take extra care when vacuuming, as the suction can pull at the weave. Taking the rug outside and shaking it out is a safer option for these.
Sunlight Protection
Natural light can bring out the colours in a rug, but too much direct sunlight over time can cause fading and weaken the fibres. Using curtains or blinds during peak sun hours, or placing the rug in an area with more indirect light, helps protect it from UV damage and keeps it looking vibrant for longer.
Rotate
We recommend rotating your rug 180 degrees every three to six months. This helps balance out fading, distributes wear evenly, and reduces the impact of direct sunlight on any one section.
IMPORTANT TIP: We recommend that an anti-slip pad such as Supa Rug Grip be used underneath rugs to prevent slippage between the rug and the surface it is placed on.
Please Note: This item cannot be delivered to a PO Box, only to a street address.

Rug Care
Keeping it Clean
Rugs are not just beautiful additions to your home; they also endure the everyday hustle and bustle of foot traffic, spills, and dirt. Proper care and maintenance are crucial in preserving their beauty and extending their lifespan. Here are some essential rug care tips to keep your rugs looking fresh and vibrant for years to come.
Cleaning Advice
To protect the quality of your rug, we strongly recommend using a professional-grade cleaner such as Prefesol or seeking guidance from a rug-care specialist before attempting any cleaning yourself.
Please note that we cannot accept responsibility for any damage or changes to your rug caused by cleaning products or methods chosen by the customer.
Vacuuming
- Canister vacuums without beater bars are the optimal type of vacuum to use on rugs.
- Brooms and manual sweepers are also a gentle and effective way to clean rugs.
- If you must use an upright vacuum, use the handheld attachment whenever possible.
- Refrain from running the vacuum over the edges of the rug. Instead, use the handheld attachment or carefully place the vacuum on the rug.
- If a rug is reversible, remember to vacuum both sides.
- For hand-woven rugs, use extra caution when vacuuming, as the suction can pull the weave. Alternatively, you can take the rug outside and gently shake it out.
Sunlight Protection
While natural light can enhance the colors of your rug, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause fading and degradation of fibers. Use curtains or blinds to block the sun during peak hours, or consider placing your rug in an area with more indirect light.
By taking these simple steps, you can protect your rugs from UV damage, ensuring they remain vibrant and beautiful for many years.
Rotate
It is highly recommended to rotate your rug 180 degrees every 3–6 months to balance appearance, minimize fading, distribute wear evenly, and protect it from direct sunlight.
